Here’s a quick interview with the Japanese cult noise band, THE GEROGERIGEGEGE!!! These guys play noisecore like you’ve never heared and they have a huge list of releases available. Ok, enough of my boring intro, read one! THE GEROGERIGEGEGE/2-12-3 Hamadayama/Suginami Tokyo/168 JAPAN.

- BE A FREAK: HELLO JUNTARO! FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE NEVER HEARD OF YOUR BAND, PLEASE GIVE A SHORT HISTORY AND THE YEAR YOU STARTED.

- JUNTARO: I started noise making on early 1995(??? - ed). My first recording I released on cassette(untitled). Soon many people and record shops liked iit. I sould about 150 copies in Tokyo. And then I started the recording for the 1st album “Senzuri Champion”.

- YOU HAVE LOTS OF CD RELEASES! YOUR BANND MUST BE VERY POPULAR IN JAPAN. ARE YOU GOOD FRIENDS WITH OTHER EXTREME TOTAL NOISE BANDS LIKE MERZBOW, MASONNA, ETC???

- Some people/bands like us, some people/bands hate us. I don’t care about the other bands and other music.

- DO YOU PLAY LIVE GIGS IN JAPAN? HOW IS THE RESPONSE?

- Our official member is me and Gero 30(now 57 age old, exhibitionist). He masturbates on stage. Our first gig on the end of 1986. We did gig about 50 times. Most of the audience is laughing, shouting, etc. You can listen to their response on our live album “Live Greatest Hits”!

- WHAT DOES YOUR BAND NAME MEAN? DO YOU LISTEN TO OTHER KINDS OF MUSIC? WHAT DO YOU THINK OF G.G. ALLIN???

- The geekexhibitionistramrodonanismgayenobrammeritchgigaenemagroinejaculationgenderfuckerotica. (Figure it out!-ed) I’m especially enjoy Swedish electro acoustic music like LEIG ELGGREN, SUNS OF GOD, CM VON HAUSSWOLF. About G.G. ALLIN, I have the most of his record, video. I especially like “Dirty Love Songs” double LP. (Yeah!-ed)

- WHAT ARE YOUR FEELING ON THE CURRENT NOISE SCENE? WHAT BANDS DO YOU LIKE?

- Finland’s BIZARRE UPROAR. All his records are really excellent!! And I also love AUNT MARY(his old band).

- Many bands use the photos of dead body, gore for the record covers. I hate this cheap and foolish imagination.

- WHAT ARE YOUR MAIN GOALS FOR YOUR BAND AND LABEL? EVER SIGN TO A MAJOR LABEL???

- I’m not interest in a major label and I’m really not interested in rock band, rock n roll! THE GEROGERIGEGEGE do not want to be a rock band!
